Remember YouTube videos of an old lady blowing out the candles on her birthday cake and startling everyone with her full dentures that fly out of her mouth?

Well, that could likely be a thing of the past. What this means is that as denture patients get older, they lose more bone. The dentures which typically sit on the gums covering the bone will not fit so well after 2 to 3 years, which is the reason these old folks need to make a new set of dentures every 2 to 3 years. 

But what happens when there is no more bone or very little bone to make a new set of dentures? They end up with ill-fitting and loose dentures, particularly on the lower jaw, and you end up like the lady in the YouTube video with flying dentures.
